“YAMAMINGU”
born from the mountain

There is a bamboo grove that is living with nature in our mountain.
Bamboo stands quietly while changing its expression in the changing seasons.
We have made cutlery from the bamboo.

It embodies the “beauty of use”

Freshness is very important for bamboo. Immediately after logging, a process called Abra Nuki is required to remove excess water and oil.
This greatly improves durability and quality. The skin on the surface is very hard and strong to protect itself from foreign enemies.

In other words, it can be said to be “the power to live.”

We valued the individual shape and luster of each bamboo.

We also believe that even the slightest scratches and shades of color have a breath of nature.

The craftsman’s sharpened spirit and technique bring to life such unique bamboo.
It embodies the “beauty of use” that has not only the beauty of appearance but also the practicality and functionality.
It can be said that it is the moment when the feelings of the creator dwell in the bamboo.

I thought about the basic shape with the desire to reduce unnecessary cleaning, washing, and disinfection in COVID-19 as much as possible and the spirit of Mottainai.

In addition to the strength of bamboo, beeswax or lacquer (clear or black lacquer) is applied to the surface of cutlery so that it can be used for as long as possible.
Through this process, the scratched lenticel becomes like a well-maintained wrinkle on the face, preserving its natural texture and strength.

We use beeswax from an apiary near the farm, which is a blend of our orange oil and domestic rapeseed oil.
For lacquer ware, we ask Echizen lacquer professionals to wipe and lacquer finish.

Brand card made of abaca cloth that weaves the heart of Ryukyu
Hemp string with the passion of farmers for over 400 years

To protect the crafts that have been passed down from generation to
generation is to know and to use.

We want to pass on the beauty of use created by nature and the craft
culture that Japan is proud of to the next generation.

Eternity, nature and why we appreciate the mountains

[Bamboo Cutlery] YAMAMINGU Set -Black lacquer-

We are worried about something and smile at something in the time that goes around every moment.
We are a little tired from our busy days, but when we stop, there is a calm flow of time.
In Japan, where about 70% of the land is forest, nature is a part of our lives.
Nature shows seasonal expressions and is looking for “tomorrow” that is different from “yesterday”.
Behind the farm are mountains that gently watch over our clumsy activities.
Mountains and nature are special to farmers.
Beyond the deep green are the rugged bark, the tone of fallen leaves, and the vegetation that sways in the morning dew.
Each of them shapes our lives. The essence of nature never changes and fluctuates. That’s the way nature is.

Mountain watches
Mountain smiles
Mountain cries
Mountain calls
Mountain asks

[Bamboo Cutlery] YAMAMINGU Set -Black lacquer-

The water flowing from the mountains saves our lives.

The trees cut out from the mountains protect our lives.
The kindness and rigor that nature weaves are the fetal movement of the earth.

[Bamboo Cutlery] YAMAMINGU Set -Black lacquer-

With gratitude and awe for nature that weaves calmness and circulation, we want to send you crafts that will make you feel relaxed and feel mountains and nature in everyday life.
More kindness, more warmth, and more gratitude for life.

This is the brand that Hiroki Fukuoka, the third-generation farmer, proposes everyday life from the mountains.
